The $39 Wyoming LLC, and What $1,495 Actually Buys

Northwest and the other online agents will file Articles for a headline fee. We charge $1,495. An honest account of when the cheap filing is enough, and when it is not.

Two real products, two real prices

Online agents will form a Wyoming LLC for a headline fee around $39 plus the state's own filing fee, often with the first year of registered agent bundled and a higher agent fee in year two. Tresp Corporate Services forms a Wyoming LLC for $1,495, including first-year state filing fees. Both numbers are real. They do not buy the same thing.

When the cheap filing is the right call

If you are going to run your own compliance, keep your own records, appoint an agent you trust, and never need a person to pick up the phone the morning a summons lands, a $39 filing plus the state fee will put Articles on the Secretary of State's record. We will not talk you out of that. Pretending otherwise is how professional-services companies lose the people they most need to keep.

What $1,495 is actually paying for

The number includes the Wyoming state filing fee, a name availability check, the Articles, and a digital operating agreement. It also includes a team in a renovated 120-year-old building at 821 S Main St, Kemmerer, who will still be there in year three. Add a compliance package from $21 a month and the annual report is no longer a calendar item you can miss.

The part the headline fee does not mention

Registered agent is a statutory job: a physical address in the state, available during business hours, to accept service of process. A great many $39 products meet that requirement with the thinnest possible interpretation of a physical presence. Ours is a staffed office across from the original J.C. Penney mother store. That difference is invisible at formation and very visible the day something arrives that has a deadline on it.

When the structure is the point

Holding companies, series LLCs, DAO LLCs, nominee manager-of-record, aged shelf entities, a law firm licensed in California, Wyoming, and Montana when the question is legal. None of that is a $39 filing. If that is the work, start at /order or call 307.800.1088. If it is not, the cheap agent is not an insult. It is a different product.
