What you actually get
Included with every aged entity
- The entity itself, with its original Wyoming formation date intact
- A guarantee that it is clear of any debts and liabilities
- All features of our Classic Incorporation Package
- Filed change of ownership and management with the Wyoming Secretary of State
- Some entities include Public Record Address Service, ask which ones
You will still need a Wyoming registered agent on record, and most buyers add a corporate compliance program so the annual report and state filings are handled automatically from the day the entity changes hands.
Why buyers choose an aged entity
Three reasons come up over and over:
The practical case
- Documented history. Counterparties, lenders, and prospective clients frequently look at how long an entity has existed. An entity formed in 2022 reads differently than one formed last Tuesday.
- Time. The entity already exists. You skip the formation queue entirely and can move to banking and operations immediately.
- Eligibility thresholds. Some contracts, vendor programs, and government procurement processes require a minimum period of existence before a company can bid or apply. An aged entity can put you over that line on day one.
What an aged shelf company will not do
We would rather tell you this before you buy than after. An aged entity gives you a formation date, it does not manufacture anything else.
Be clear-eyed about this
A shelf company has no operating history, no revenue, no trade references, and no credit file. Lenders and underwriters who look past the formation date will see a company with no financial track record, and most serious ones do look. Anyone selling you an aged entity on the promise of instant business credit or guaranteed loan approval is overselling it.
It also does not change who you are. Beneficial ownership reporting obligations, banking know-your-customer checks, and tax filing requirements all follow the real owners regardless of when the entity was formed. Buying an aged company to obscure ownership is not what these are for and is not something we will help with.
How the transfer works
It is a straightforward process and usually completes quickly:
Step by step
- Pick your entity from the inventory above and complete checkout, or call us to reserve one.
- We collect your details: new ownership, management, and the registered address you want on record.
- We file the change of ownership and management with the Wyoming Secretary of State.
- You receive the records: formation documents, the ownership transfer, and your corporate records.
- Set up ongoing compliance so the annual report never becomes your problem.
If you are buying an aged entity as part of a larger asset protection or holding structure, that structuring is legal work. Tresp Corporate Services does not provide legal advice, we work alongside the independent law firm Tresp, Day & Associates, Inc., whose attorneys handle the legal strategy while we handle the entity and the compliance.

Common questions
Frequently asked
What is an aged shelf company?
An aged shelf company is a corporation or LLC that was legally formed on an earlier date and then held unused, never traded, never in debt, until someone buys it. The buyer takes ownership of an entity that already has a documented formation date rather than forming a brand-new company today.
Is buying an aged shelf company legal?
Yes. Forming an entity and later transferring its ownership is an ordinary and lawful corporate transaction. What matters is what you do with it: ownership changes are filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State, and beneficial ownership reporting, banking know-your-customer requirements, and tax obligations apply to the real owners exactly as they would with a newly formed company.
How much does an aged shelf company cost?
Tresp Corporate Services prices aged Wyoming entities from $2,645 to $3,645, with older entities costing more. As of August 2026 we hold 33 available entities formed between March 2022 and January 2024.
Will an aged shelf company get my business a loan or credit line?
Not on its own, and you should be skeptical of anyone who says otherwise. An aged entity has no operating history, no revenue, and no credit file. Lenders that underwrite seriously look past the formation date to financials and trade references. The formation date can help with counterparty confidence and with programs that require a minimum period of existence, it is not a substitute for a track record.
Do the entities come with debts or liabilities?
No. Every entity we sell was formed by us and held unused, and is guaranteed to be clear of any debts and liabilities. Each also includes the features of our Classic Incorporation Package.
