Not a U.S. citizen? You can still own a Wyoming company.
Formation in about seven working days, at the same price anyone else pays, with a plain account of what we can and cannot do for you.
What we need to form your company
If you are not located in the U.S., or are not a U.S. citizen and need a U.S. company, we can set up a Wyoming LLC or corporation for you, or you can buy one of our aged shelf companies and take over an entity that already has a formation date.
To form a non-resident Wyoming company we need
- Your contact information
- The name you want to use for the company
- Who is going to be the director of the company
- A scan of that person’s passport
- Payment
We are not required by law to verify who you are, but it is our company policy to keep a copy of your passport on file in case there is ever a question about who we dealt with.
What a non-citizen can and cannot own
You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to own or be a part-owner of a C-corporation or an LLC. The one limitation is that you cannot start or directly be an owner of an S-corporation, that is a restriction in the federal tax code on who may hold S-corporation shares, and it is not something any provider can work around.
In practice this means non-residents almost always form either a Wyoming LLC or a Wyoming corporation taxed as a C-corporation.
What we cannot do, please read before ordering
Banking and EIN
We cannot help you open a bank account and we cannot help you get a tax ID (EIN) number. We are telling you this before you pay us, not after.
If you need a bank account in the U.S., you must come to the U.S. in person so the bank can verify your ID. There is no other way to do that. Most U.S. banks will also require that you already have a U.S. tax ID. You may be able to open an account in another country using the paperwork we send you, you would need to check with that bank about its current policy, which changes often.
Restricted countries and the OFAC list
We cannot establish Wyoming companies or LLCs for non-U.S. citizens from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, the Western Balkans, Burma, Liberia, or Zimbabwe, or where a name appears on the OFAC list of blocked persons or companies.
You can search that list directly at sanctionssearch.ofac.treas.gov. Sanctions programs change; if you are unsure whether a restriction applies to you, ask us before ordering rather than after.
Cost and timing
We can set up an LLC for a non-U.S. citizen in Wyoming within about seven working days. The cost of a Wyoming LLC for a non-resident is the same as it is for anyone else: $1,495, except for the cost of shipping your kit by international FedEx so the package reaches you in reasonable time.
Full pricing for every entity type is on the order page.

Common questions
Frequently asked
Can a non-US citizen own a Wyoming LLC?
Yes. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or resident to own or part-own a Wyoming LLC or a C-corporation. The only ownership limitation is that a non-resident cannot directly own an S-corporation, which is a restriction in the federal tax code.
How long does it take to form a Wyoming LLC for a non-resident?
About seven working days, plus international FedEx shipping time if you order a physical corporate kit.
Can you get me an EIN or open a US bank account?
No. Tresp Corporate Services cannot obtain an EIN for you and cannot help you open a U.S. bank account. To open a U.S. bank account you generally must appear in person so the bank can verify your identification, and most U.S. banks also require a U.S. tax ID.
Are there countries you cannot form a company for?
Yes. We cannot establish Wyoming companies for non-U.S. citizens from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, the Western Balkans, Burma, Liberia, or Zimbabwe, or where a name appears on the OFAC list of blocked persons or companies.
Does it cost more for a non-resident?
No. A Wyoming LLC is $1,495 for a non-resident, the same as for anyone else. The only additional cost is international FedEx shipping if you order a physical corporate kit.
